Good summary of the science from people with well informed opinions

As editor of the Journal of Orthomolecular medicine Andrew Saul is an excellent source of information.

Andrews business is the business of referencing what he says... so what he says is backed up by research.

Andrew's story is not the only one told... but he helps glue everything together.

There are both personal testimonies and science based comment... which is an acceptable mix.

The trigger for this documentary was a guy who was lucky enough to realise that his depression could be corrected in a way he never imagined possible. Fortunately that made him keen enough to make this documentary. We're the beneficiaries of this good fortune.

Not enough people realise how important minerals, vitamins, enzymes and other compounds natural to the body are to our functioning. Without these essential nutrients our body fails to work properly... which results in illness. This is a very basic proposition which not enough people understand well. However today with an explosion in research and unprecedented access to information some people care enough to try to change the way we practice medicine.

It is not surprising to find that Andrew Saul and the other people in the documentary have no particular objection to traditional medicine... when appropriate.

This is a good documentary for anyone wanting to learn about natural science based ways of healing... and how medicine and orthomolecular (right molecule) medicine interact.

:-) PS. Orthomolecular medicine was pioneered by Linus Pauling who won a Nobel prize in Chemistry... so it shouldn't be surprising to find that it's based on science. PPS. In a couple of cases it would have been nice if they had added the references to the research they were referring to. This would have been useful because sometimes the research is a little bit hard to find or has taken on mythical properties. This is more of an issue for the casual reader than the researcher... but many people seem to have never read the original research.

Complete and utter lack of scientific evidence

imhy 5 October 2018

Warning: Spoilers

I love watching random documentaries to learn new things so I was open to this documentary but be EXTREMELY CAREFUL believing the allegations made in this documentary.

It claims you can heal yourself with large doses of vitamins but it has ZERO scientific evidence in the documentary to back it up. It claims large doses of vitamin C could cure alzheimer's disease but it wouldn't be hard to get 100 alzheimer's patients to take large doses of vitamin C and see what how many are cured. Something as simple as 100 alzheimer's patients took large doses of vitamin C for 30 days and 60 of them were cured would be some sort of measurement if this simple test was shown in the documentary. But in this entire documentary there is absolutely zero proof. Just useless accounts from people that say I took something and my symptoms disappeared. It is just utter jibberish self diagnosis. If this so called respected documentary maker was serious, it wouldn't have been hard to find some sort of evidence to back up these ridiculous claims.

The documentary also claims no one has ever overdosed or died from over consumption of vitamins but that is a complete and utter lie. One google search and it will give you a number of cases where people have died from over consumption of vitamins. Maybe not vitamin C because a doctor explained to me that this was a water soluble thing that excess vitamin C would just be filtered by my liver and discreet in urine but other vitamins can definitely kill you.

The documentary also claims these people that make these outrageous claims have nothing to gain from it. It's hilarious because they're clearly publishing books that claims number 1 best seller so they're clearly using this to make money. Even if they weren't getting monetary reward for making these claims, it is not the first person to make outrageous claims for attention, to be recognised, famous or to be followed and be listened to.

Sad thing is having a balanced diet and taking some sort of vitamins probably is a good thing but there complete lack of scientific evidence or evidence of any kind while making such outrageous claims does the complete opposite and makes people lose complete faith in what they are saying. The claims made in this documentary are dangerous and preys on old or sick people desperate for a solution which is horrible. Take what is said in this doco with a grain of salt cause it has absolutely nothing to back it up.

Evidentiary proof that vitamins help and heal in many cases

Can't say enough about how much the studies quoted in this film have made a difference in my health, especially those on Vitamin C. Very grateful for this info. Having had a chronic infection for several years, i was never advised that vitamin C has been tested on those with my infection with good results. After only one month using high doses as outlined in this film,i was able to exercise and increase my strength significantly. This info can help a lot of people.

Very Useful Info Big Pharma Doesn't Want You to Know

Big Pharma can only make money from chemicals they invent, so natural ones like vitamins, minerals and food-based supplements get few research dollars. Thus there are still lots of good questions about natural substances already found in our bodies. This movie addresses some of the more promising areas for healing, some of which have solid science. If you're waiting for your doctor to figure out that vitamin C might cure cancer, it will be a long wait. Big Pharma wants to sell you their pricey drugs and they control most of the medical journals and continuing medical education for doctors.

Before you yell, "snake oil," keep in mind that research is required for both proof and disproof. If I claim that vitamin mega doses cured my thyroid cancer and you say that's nonsense, both of us need science to establish our position. Nowhere in the scientific method does it say "shoot down all new ideas." The problem is most doctors aren't researching vitamins and Big Pharma's marketing departments don't want us to know how effective some supplements are.

If you care to educate yourself about natural remedies, this movie is a good place to start. Only open minds learn.

Must have information for superior self care

I have been a huge fan of Andrew Saul for years now. I go to his website often for home remedies, so when this documentary came out I was very excited. I was not disappointed! If you are remotely interested in firing your doctor and taking your health care into your own hands, where it belongs in the first place, Watch This Documentary!!!

Phenomenal film

An outstanding film that goes into detail about what the benefits are to vitamins and how they support your health. The information is well researched. I recommend this film for anyone who is looking to take control of their health and not relying on traditional methods. Great film to watch with your family and/or share it with your friends. Get a pen and note pad because you'll want to take notes. Enjoy! :-)

Very Informative!

Excellent documentary - and contains information that we all need to know. I know I learned a lot - and, prior to this series, I really thought I knew enough to stop there. Not! Actually, this series could save your life! There is so much helpful information that I would be hard pressed to state which segment was better than the other as all are necessary to put the vitamin understanding together in one's mind.

Eye opener

Sometimes the obvious needs to be pointed out. Certain vitamins have more research of benefit than drugs. Take vitamin c. Tons of documentation That it can cure disease in high levels. Everything in here backed up by science. I know I cured my dog with supplementation. Another made it to 20. Great researchers. Great science. And a gift to us all. A must see.

must see documentary

This is an outstanding reflection from renowned medical authorities from around the U.S. and other countries. It is presented in a reporter interview format. Included are doctors, researchers, nutrition experts, and holistic practitioners discussing the importance of providing our bodies with the proper nutrition and supplements. Our world is continually assaulted by stresses of all types from our nutritionally deficient soils to chemical pollution in our drinking water and industrial way of life. The message is our bodies can heal themselves if we provide them with the necessary vitamins and other supplements and foods. This means we must look beyond what has been accepted as normal requirements for vitamins and minerals. Megadoses have helped thousands of people recover and thrive from previously crippling illnesses and conditions. This movie shares invaluable information to help correct these inadequacies in our education about how to truly heal and enhance the way our bodies function.

Really helpful information

Much of this was new to me - I have since greatly increased the number of vitamins that I include in my diet. I've also investigated other websites from some of the presenters and have found a lot of useful information. Even if you don't agree with everything here, it's definitely worth viewing.

I am in control of my body again, thanks to this movie.

After watching this movie I realized that I am not alone in my search for having a healthier and happier life. I have long suspected that we can have the power to heal our own bodies and minds without running to the physician for every little problem. This movie proves me right. I became suspicious when I left the Doctor with less money in my pocket and a bunch of prescriptions that did little or nothing, or made things worse. I had never heard of Orthomolecular Medicine. Why would I? Society is so created as to let us believe that only trained physicians have a say over our bodies. I was actually asked to leave a physicians office because I dared to say that I refuse to take the blood pressure meds prescribed, and I had found my own natural treatment, in the supermarket no less. I get that they are taught what they are taught, and study for years and years to get to where they believe they are right. But now we can take the power back and treat our own bodies whenever possible. This movie is an eye opener to say the least. Just watch it and then start with baby steps if you are not ready for the whole package. Remember that they are not selling us anything, just a chance at putting our health in our own hands.

Excellent way of explaining the importance of vitamins

With easy to understand explanation how nature acts and with the very personal usage and results we have to think twice before taking a pill from the "Big Pharma"/subscription. This movie is a real eye-opener and of course Big Pharma is not happy at all, but the reality works as simple as seen in the movie (my own experience).

Watch the movie starting with an open mind; don't let your mindset be influenced by Big Pharma (they only care about their income not our health).

Great information here, well produced and researched.

Enjoyed this documovie immensely. Have taken some advice on board since actually, and have felt the benefits in my general health. The film was well researched and nicely produced and I found it quite an entertaining viewing experience that I have already recommended to several friends and family. Perhaps the only minor flaw is that there were a couple of moments when I struggled to follow technical parts of the narrative, but these were rare and in no way spoiled the experience of watching the production.

Excellent, Well Produced, and Very Informative

The reviews about the evidence in the movie being purely anecdotal are simply wrong or intentionally deceptive. I wonder if they watched the same movie. The evidence presented, while laced with many personal experiences, is also very well supported with a plethora of solid clinical data, clinical trial results, and many decades of research. Also presented (and very disturbing) is the history how what used to be common knowledge and well-established (and EFFECTIVE) wisdom has been systematically covered up and/or removed from the medical educational system in favor of big pharma and more "profitable" treatments (as opposed to prevention). While offering much hope and very practical, how-to knowledge, it also offers a disgusting expose of what is horribly broken with many of the Western world's health care systems.

its very good

it tells the truth and people should really want the truth. It lets you know what is really going on with vitamins. Vitamins fight diseases, mental problems and depression. But some people say we shouldn't use vitamins. We should use them when we need them to help. Some people say vitamin c can kill you, but there are no cases to prove. Its just a tale. This helps to let you know whats true and whats not.

We need more like this

People who call this movie quackery can not have tried alternative healing. Without trying these methods over time, it isn't proper to gun down something the works for many. Rather than dismissing all together how about listening with an open mind. This isn't the first movie of its kind---I expect it will not be the last.

Information we all need

It is about time good information about vitamins, food, minerals is offered to the public. There are so many conditions, including mental disorders, that can be helped by the proper food, vitamins and other supplements. The bulk of the mainstream medical profession may not want you to know these things and have in the past managed to sabotage and keep such information from the public. So this movie is doing a service and people can now make up their own minds about what to do, take, eat, eliminate, etc., if they have a problem they need to deal with.

This excellent film changed our lives!

I could not disagree more with the previous one star review! Had the reviewer watched the documentary with an open mind, he would have noted that the sources are NOT anecdotal. They come directly from published research. And just because the information contained in this film is not from the mainstream medical community does not make it invalid.

This documentary has changed our lives. Since watching it, we have increased our intake of vitamin supplements and have added even more plant-based foods to our already good diets. We both have more energy and I have even been able to discontinue some prescription drugs I had been using for more than 20 years. Want to know what works to improve your health and the health of your loved ones? Watch That Vitamin Movie and read some of Andrew Saul's books, and do it with an open mind.

Interesting film giving much information on vitamins

I saw this when it came out and was impressed by the clear information given. There's no hard sell, just a lot of useful detail on the subject. It's refreshing to see something like this that aims only to inform, leaving you to decide, and that it does very well.

The people involved clearly know their stuff. Worth watching.

Complete load of garbage

This film is pseudo scientific nonsense of the most dangerous kind. There is no clinical evidence for any of the claims being made and it is positively insulting to anyone who has lost a family member to cancer, HIV or any serious disease. This quack should be locked up before he does any more damage to the lives of vulnerable stupid people who don't understand scientific method.

Must watch. Not knowing the info contained there might be fatal

Warning: Spoilers

Life saving information for anyone dealing with a wide range of issues. From common cold, infections and viruses to diabetes, depression, addictions and cancer. All based on hard science and evidence which for God knows what($$) reason is not mainstream yet. I also recommend Andrew Saul's the vitamin cure which expands on what's shown in the documentary

Not a scam.

Warning: Spoilers

What I saw in this documentary was that it was intended for information only. A scam usually involves a product for sale. I found no products for sale in this movie, nor even any brands of products promoted. If someone is getting good results away from mainstream medicine, it doesn't hurt anything to share the information and possibly help others.

Nice to know

Just nice to know that what you always knew was correct. That the nutrients we get from good quality, natural foods, keeps us alive. I love this film. Its great to know that there is a whole support network out there for people who don't want to fill their bodies with endless drugs and that there is an alternative, (as there has been for thousands of years), in nature! Brilliant.
